I own multiple timeshares and my success rate in exchangng has been much higher with II than RCI. I own a resort that is listed in both exchange programs. So, can I switch that resort from RCI to II to see how it goes? If so how do I go about switching it over? Thanks for your help.

You don't really have to "switch". You can join II and register the unit with them. Very simple.

This does not require that you disassociate from RCI unless you just choose to. I maintain a membership with both and my dual-affiliated weeks are listed with both companies. I deposit my weeks with the one that I need a week in each year. It may be RCI one year, II the next.

Also, since II allows you to search before depositing, you can join and just play around with the week before committing it to either company as a deposit.

I recently added my Christie Lodge 3BR to my II account. I have had bad luck with RCI in the last couple of years.

Funny thing is, whenever I would call II about CL, they would put me through to the Marriott desk because I am also a Marriott owner. Now I just call the Marriott desk directly for all resorts. So far II has been very pleasant. I have not put in any trade requests yet.

We shall see. :D

For weeks that are already deposited, you can't "switch" them over. For future weeks, you can deposit them wherever you want, following the exchange company's rules. With RCI and II that means being a member (which you obviously already are), and them listing that resort. I understand with II they may try to charge you to add another resort to your membership, but will waive the fee if you extend your membership. RCI does not do this, you just tell them, and they add the week.

After two weeks of going back and forth with RedWeek, and a little help from my home resort, I managed to get my Christie Lodge (CL) deposit back from DAE.

I just deposited that same CL March 2008 week with II and received an AC (bonus week) for depositing! :whoopie: That is something I have never received before with RCI. My 2007 week is already with RCI and has been attached to an ongoing search for over five months. :annoyed:

I was able to add my CL to II, but did have to extend my membership. That was OK as I had less than a year left on my membership.

Anyhow, I have already seen better weeks with my AC on II than I could get with RCI. I expect to have much better luck trading with II in the future. :D
