Anyone now about NTHC to sell your timeshare

I need help quickly! I was checking out the section on TUG about 'Frequently mentioned resale sites' and went on NTHC (National Timeshare Help Center) web site. I sent an e-mail to them with info about the timeshare that I want to sell and someone contacted me. Has anyone out there ever use this service before? I am really thinking about taking a chance. They want $99 up front (I know, everyone says no upfront fees, but this seems a reasonable amount) and they take another $400 after they sell it. They will also rent it out for you if it does not sell right away. Again, anybody ever heard of this service or used and had any success? (I DID find it on TUG.)

Thanks,
Kathy

One of our regular tuggers is, I believe, affiliated with that company. I have done business with Cindy several times and would have no qualms whatsoever in doing business with her again. The company, I know nothing about.

Where in that "frequently mentioned" link are they listed?

ah ha...I figured it was under a different name...id seen them mentioned here before (favorably) but didnt see them in the list.

thanks!

$400 after the sale sounds high unless you have a valuable timeshare.

"No up-front fees" means that the company you hire should be making their money after the sale and therefore has a significant reason to properly price and actually try and sell your TS. NTHC fee structure does that.

Yes, $100 seems a little high but if they are advertizing on all those other websites and paying the fees to list on them, then $100 seem very reasonable. Also, they make most of their money when they sell your TS. That is exactly what you want from whoever you hire to sell your TS.

I have been actively looking for a couple of particular resales for the past year. The only time I ever have come across this agent is through their classified listings on myresortnetwork.com. You might want to try out a $25 ad there first, before spending $99 + $400 with NTHC.

As stated above, NTHC is a legitimate company that has frequently been praised by TUGgers. The TUG advice against paying upfront fees doesn't apply to nominal fees for a listing.

Although $99 is above the norm for acceptable listing fees, it gets approval from this corner because the company has a positive track record. That can't be said for the companies that contact almost all of us by phone and email making wild promises and asking for hundreds of dollars upfront. The $400 tail-end fee for success is at the low end of fees charged by companies that do the legwork to find a buyer. And that's how NTHC makes its money - on the tail-end, if it's successful.

Why are you using your 1st post on this website to comment about NTHC?

The post doesn't seem unreasonable to me, Bill. I see the post as being about upfront fees, not about NTHC.

All of the advice on this site warns against paying an upfront fee. NTHC's $99 fee borders on what we would normally recommend staying away from. Thus, it appears to me that mitsicorp is joining the crowd as a first post.

Welcome to TUG, mitsicorp!
