The website of the Northeast Vacations @ Mineral Resorts and Spa, Vernon, NJ. offers attractive views of the amenities and facilities of this large complex. I am attracted by its location for the summer of 2008 but would like to hear from any TUGers who have actually stayed there. The Interval Directory lists two resort sections codes, GGR and GGI, but an II rep I spoke to had no idea of their significance. Which section should I request ? Are their facilities as good as their website make you believe ? Thanks.

we have stayed ther twice

both times in december to visit family . we only used the pools which are pretty cool in the winter because they have an outside pool that is heated to 98 degrees which you enter from inside and swim out to . this resort is really a residential resort with about 500 units but only about 10 are timeshares tied into a hotel. this is a mountainous region of NJ . close by there is a ski resort that is a waterpark in the summer , an ice skating ring (indoor ) , a horseback riding ranch , and lots of antiques (sp) . . you are only about an hour away from NYC for a day trip ( depending on traffic ) and a few hrs from many beachs . oh and up the road in ny state there is a drive -in- movie theater . if your are planning tro stay in this area is is really the only timeshare to stay at .

Hi, I stayed in the hotel portion a couple of years ago, when I think it was brand new. I got a very sweet deal as they were trying to entice people to check it out. We were attending a sporting event nearby and there really wasn't any place else in the area (at least that I saw). Would definitely go back if we were ever in that neck of the woods again.

Stayed in May 2007

Hi, We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit in May 2007. It was listed as the GGR resort and was located on the golf course. The outdoor pool at the hotel was closed for renovation at the time but the pool areas at the hotel looked very nice. We took several day trips into NYC. As stated previously, it took a little over an hour midmorning. The nearby waterpark looked nice, but wasn't open at that time of year. Decent grocery store in Vernon. Was able to find several decent restaurants in the area.
Would definitely stay again.

Thanks for your post. Could you expand on your experiences at the resort, i.e. your view of the unit's furnishing and comfort level, any maintenance concerns, food quality at the hotel, etc. Since my family would include children, amenities such as a waterpark and/or horse riding would be important.
Based on my past experiences I don't think we would care to make a day trip to NYC in mid - summer. Also, could you explain the difference between GGR and GGI resort sections? Thanks.
