Thinking of going to Vegas in Fabruary when gr. d has a vew days off from school........... Valentines week (??)

We would be coming from PA (me, hubby, d and gr d and d's bf) and meeting our d and sil there (coming from OR)

I can only pull a 1br so maybe the kids could get a hotel pkg deal and come to the condo to eat. None of the condos have indoor pools and I'm thinking February is too cold to swim in the outdoor pools????

When would you suggest going to Vegas for decent weather..... warm enough to swim, comfortable to sightsee, not the hot or rainy season

Where would you recommend staying also either ts or hotel. Sometime we can get a better pkg deal.

Been there in February and it is not a time you'll likely want to be swimming. In fact most of the pools are shutdown at many hotels/resorts from November to April. It can get quite warm during the day but tends to be cool to cold at night. Still better than the Northeast in February unless you are a skier or snowmobiler but not South Florida weather by any means.

Winter in Vegas

This is what winter can be like in Vegas some years. We've been here four years, and its snowed twice. It only snows for an hour or two, and only one day. The reason I mention it is because I want to emphasize that it won't be swimming weather. If its not windy it should be fine, though, especially if you are coming from PA. You can check the weather on Wunderground using their travel planning forecasts.

If you are coming near Valentine's Day, it probably will be Presidents' Day weekend, too. Traffic on The Strip is pretty bad at night that weekend. I've been there, and won't voluntarily do it again.

April and early May are lovely, as is this time of year.

For swimming and comfortable sight seeing it could be tricky. We enjoy March but it can be windy and a little to cold for swimming. Twice in 9 years though temps have been in the 90's when we were here in March and that's to hot for us to walk the strip comfortably but great for swimming.

Feb. will definately be to cold to swim. My thoughts on best times to be sight seeing and comfotable yet warm enough to swim would be April to early May (Late May it should be getting hot) and maybe early October to mid October. We're here now and it's maybe a little cool IMO to be out swimming but the pool has been doing pretty decent business when the sun is on it.

We were in Vegas in mid-January this past year...40 for the high, 20 for the lows. Didn't snow on us but it was very chilly!!!

One of the best kept secrets in Las Vegas is it's INDOOR municiple pool. It's about 8 years old now and is a very large & very nice facility. 431 E. Bonanza Rd, it's a couple of blocks from old Las Vegas (aka Freemont Street Experience), located on part of the governmental facilties grounds. It's an easy walk from the bus terminal in that part of town.

It's where I go when I want to get in lap swims when in Vegas and at $2 a bargin to boot!

I feel the best weather in Vegas is April and October. We are not hot weather lovers.
We did experience snow in Vegas in January.. our grandson's first snow.

Last year, we went during superbowl weekend and it was pleasant during the day and cool at night, but definately not warm enough to swim. We stayed in a two bedroom unit at the Club de Soleil on an exchange through II. It wasn't very far from the strip, and in a quiet location. We were only a few blocks from Orleans (I believe that was the name) casino. Actually, we preferred that casino to the ones on the strip.

The year before that we went the same weekend and it was downright cold - 40's during the day and so cold at night. During that time of year, it seems that the weather is pretty close to what we have here in South Carolina.
