Buying Points and is there any Home Resort Advantage

Nothing specific to ebay. In general, there are a lot of reasons to buy at some resorts over others. Converted fixed week vs. UDI, MF structures, location (esp. as measured by risk of assessment), stability and solvency of HOA board, and the value of ARP all come to mind.

You also get the advantage of booking for 10-12 months in advance at your home resort. For the higher demand locations like St. Thomas, etc. that can make a real difference.

ARP is at 10 to 13 month. But if the resort has a lot of converted week, they will not avail until 10 month.

MF.

I will say, if you are using yourselves, where you want to go to spend most of your vacations and your travel patten determine if your Home resort matter or not. If you plan to have a lot of TS, then MF is a very important factor when you look at the Home resort.

So, I know this is conventional wisdom for fixed weeks, and I bought my fixed week with that in mind, but why is it true for FSP? With FSP, my "home resort" (the one I can book with no external exchange company's assistance) is any resort that typically has availability at 10 months. And, that's more or less everything except the Myrtle Beach and Destin summers, minus a few other odd weeks here and there.

True, if FSP dissolves, then home resort matters a whole lot. But, I put the chances of FSP dissolution pretty low given it's sheer size.

You never know if WYN will suddenly do what they've done with Worldmark and suddenly scarf up all the loose inventory and then all the 10 month availability will be a thing of the past along with the VIP benefits.

When buying points off of ebay, is there any advantage for buying at a particular resort?

Thanks

Don't know if you've made any progress, but you really SHOULD talk to a Wyndham advisor with all of the OTHER benefits members get and have access to. Wyndham points could last you a lifetime so you want to make sure that you're not missing out on what you SHOULD be doing or getting.

Edited to remove contact information.

We really would like your help here, but using the contact provided causes two main problems:

1) Your response seemed like an ad

2) We have had helpful people from T/S corporations lose their jobs because they did not receive permission for their CORP to post here. ( And there were several)

If you plan on helping, please keep the personal info off the posts, check that it is OK, and answer the questions here so all will see your response.

Thanks.

Unfortuantely, the resell is only 5% of the retail price, will be very hard to fill the gap. I guess the sell is not that good for this quarter? So it become very danagerous to buy retail at this moment even, since there will be more promise that impossible to reach and very likely get taken out in the near future. (like thrown in some resell package to help achieve the VIP status)
