extra vacations through RCI
Hi all, not sure where to put this with the RCI area not accepting new threads... anyone have experience with these Extra vacations ?? With my original plans having to be postponed I was looking at some of the offerings for 1 week timeshare in ENgland in APril or May... avg. price is $800 plus for what I am viewing... any thoughts on this ?? I am wondering if I would be better off doing a B&B for the same amount of time as a base, price wise. Granted I may not have as much room but I am kinda torn and wondering what might be best.
thanks. |

I have used extra vacations. I got really good prices when I used them, but you have to compare it to rental prices, because they aren't all great. $800 sounds fine. If you rent through RCI vs. an owner, there is less risk involved, as you don't always know who you are renting from.
As far as deciding between a timeshare or b&b, it's a personal preference thing. B&B's are not usually my cup of tea, because I like privacy. I could do a B&B for a night or a weekend, but not for a week. But that's just me. Last edited by abc31 : October 27, 2007 at 04:10 PM. Reason: typo |

Also consider the exchange rate. You will not get a B & B for $800 for a week, and you have to do meals as well. The TS gives you the option of saving money by doing meals there.

Hotel rates are higher!
We stayed in motels and found the prices high in Maine & Vermont. The $800 sounds like a reasonable price for a nice timeshare week.
