Have you ever tried Southwest? They probably won't be opening up fares for June until sometime in 2008, but if you grab them right when they open, you should get a great rate.

I've been watching prices out of ABE/PHL/EWR-TUS/PHX for next June. They have been pretty high. I'm hoping for a sale sometime late winter/early spring.

Well, I think the old US Air used to hub out of Pennsylvania. My husband used to travel there to see his parents (many years ago). Now that they are consolidated with America West I would think they might have some good rates. If you are interested in cheap fares, I would stick with Southwest but I think it is a mistake to think airline prices will be going down. My husband says the planes seem to ALWAYS be full these days. I think the carriers are cutting back and with fuel approaching $100 a barrel I would jump at the first reasonable rate I get. One their calendar opens up, Southwest almost always has good cheap (non refundable) internet rates.

Keep looking - you might get lucky. I posted on another thread about how I was looking for a Sept '08 flight to PHX from Boston on United. On a Sunday morning, the trip was $325. On Monday morning, the trip was $387, on Tuesday morning the trip was $305, on Wed. it had gone up to $487. Luckily I had "held" the $305 fare and I booked it on Wed. On Thurs., the price had dropped to about $445, where it's been hovering. This was only a couple of weeks ago.

This year I waited for Southwest to open their date range for June and when it actually became available, I got (4) $198 pp tickets from Providence - Phoenix, non stop. Now that was a great deal. So start checking their website every day in January or February to see when June 2008 will be available. Good Luck.
