Durango / Suburban - same size?

I am sure this is a dumb question, but I'll ask it anyway...

I am about to make a reservation for a car rental. Need a Suburban sized one.
Is the Dodge Durango more or less the same size?
If not, which brands do have this size (I only know the Chrysler model in this size, don't know the name though).

Obviously, I don't live in the US - so not so familiar with all the models and names and sizes. (Although DH would be but he is not here so that doesn't help.)

Thanks!

Why do you need a Suburban?

Are you traveling with eight or nine people? Are you towing something? We travel with six or seven and are comfortable in a Dodge/Chrysler Grand Caravan or Toyota Sienna.

What distinguishes the Suburban from other SUVs is that it has enough luggage space for all the passengers.

Since I am only familiar with the Suburban with suitcases, bags, strollers, I know we will be fine. Or, the Ford Windstar (or the new model from which I do not know the name) although that would be much more difficult with suitcases.

Don't know the others you mentioned - so you may be right and these would be fine too.

But, we would have 5 large suitcases, 1 large duffel bag, 6 carry ons, stroller.

Do you think that would fit in the others as well?

If not, how many large suitcases could we take in these?

Thanks!

Get a Suburban to be safe.

I think there is an excellent chance that a Sienna or Grand Caravan will handle that much luggage [I would add the Honda Odyssey to the list but you won't find them in rental fleets] . But I'd hate to recommend something new to you without being a 100% certain on the chance that you take up the suggestions and you run into a problem.

Thanks so much Charles, we may be able to take a little less during other trips - just not during this one. Thanks for the recommendations!
