Orbita/Spirit did the same thing to us, for four reservations from Orlando to Grand Cayman, and we had to give up our exchange to Morritt's Grand in January.
Both blamed it on each other. Orbitz said not not use Spirit, that they had complaints from others, and Spirit said that's what happens when you use travel agents, that they sometimes book reservations when there is no availability. I caught the mistake because I check our credit card transactions online occasionally, and I could see a charge from Orbitz but none from Spirit. That reminds me, I just had a spate of cancelling and rebooking another reservation, the one back from Orlando to here, so I need to check our CC to see if it is OK.

We had the same problem with Travelocity/Spirit with flights. Both blamed each other, and I got nowhere after spending a lots of hours on the problem! I just refuse to deal with Travelocity anymore, as I believe it was their error to post fares that did not exist.

From Fll spirit flights to GC depart only on certain days travel websites may host the timetables as daily flights creating confusion.I avoid Spirit altogerther now. They are the worst carrier I ever experianced.Customer service is non exsitant. Even a 9 dollar airfare isn't worth the tourture to me.

lost lugagge ,multiple calls promissing replacement-nothing, Servely damaged luggage ,promised replacement- nothing, 6- 2007 flights ,3 late flights. They kindly yes you to death but nothing gets accomplished. The grand winner is the horrific chaos at term #4 ft. lauderdale.A recent local news article states that the airport administrators will fix this mess soon-I hope.My last trip to the spirit term to pick up a family member they decided to land and move the plane to term #2 without notifing people picking up at term #4 .I found out by word of mouth from other people at the terminal and had to walk over to 2 then back to the parking area for term#4 .Too late for me damage already done.

Wow I so far have had good results with Spirit.
As a matter of fact, just came home today with them. Flew down with them from Bos to MB on 11/10/07, came home today. No problems at all. Have not yet signed up with their $9 program. I must say that in May 2006 I had purchased tickets to fly from Bos to FLL, then had to be on oxygen. They couldn't accomodate that onboard, I dealt with a not very nice person to get info. I e-mailed corporate about the way I was teated as that was a whole new experience for me. Received a very nice e-mail back. I then called that person, and got a full refund on non-refundable tickets! So since have used them with positive results. Always to MB though. With all things, opions are just that, we all don't have the same basic fundamentels to base these on. |

I've flown over 20 round trip flights on Spirit in the past 5 years. If their schedule works for you, I say use them. I can only remember 1 delay of about an hour. I have never lost my luggage. Occasionally, their stopovers are a little long. I did have an issue with a flight change that was greater than 4 hours (2 months before the flight) where they wouldn't give me the cheaper fare for the later flight, so I cancelled and rebooked and got the cheaper fare anyhow.
Also, I have never seen a flight for Spirit cheaper on another website, so I always book directly on their website. |

This is very true .The thing that bothers me the most is they offer the most direct flights to the places I want to travel. I just don't trust them anymore to get to my destination uneventfull. There is little recourse when any airline dumps on you.
