Budget Hotels in New York City

Resorts: Grand Summit Resort Hotel Park Plaza
Good bargain type hotel for access to Manhattan would be to stay not in Manhattan, but on the New Jersey side and take the convenient and frequent multiple public transit options into Manhattan.

I live on the NJ side of Manhattan and I have to tell you...the hotels over here that are clean and safe and offer easy access to NYC are not cheap. When I've checked for friends, they've been almost as expensive as the hotels in the city.
