Just an FYI - they are demolishing the remaining 2-bedroom building at the Mayan Palace in Acapulco. If you have a 2-bedroom reservation, you will be upgraded to the Grand Mayan.

we will be there in two weeks.. will it be a mess?? We have a one bedroom, have they left those alone for now??? Any current info would be great..

thanxx

It is not a mess and was not noisy when we were there - that building is the one to your right when you cross the "bridge". The one bedroom buildings are fine - I walked around the back of it when I went to get some ice in my mug one day. It looked like they were renovating a few rooms there too, but I think that was general maintenance.

I bought several 2 bdrm mayan palaces with the intent to go to Acapulco once I could convince my bigger half that there was something to see or do there.

I still haven't found any information that might get me there, but are you saying I won't be able to go now unless I use our Grand Mayan weeks?

Will there still be a Mayan Palace there? Can I reserve now or must I wait till they might rebuild?

You can reserve there. They'll just move you to the Grand. :whoopie: There will be new bldgs erected someday, but you know how they move....at a snail's pace! Or slower! :D

Monica is right. If you have a 2-bedroom reservation, you will automatically be upgraded to the Grand. If you are going using a 1-bedroom, you will be int one of the two 1-bedroom buildings. They plan to rebuild a big high-rise Mayan Palace where the current 2-bedroom building is. I guess they are building a Mayan Regency on the golf course. It will have a lazy river. I heard that the current water park will be reconfigured into a new pool in front of the Grand Mayan once the Regency is completed.

It would be a great time to use a 2-bedroom MP week if you have one - the MF are much lower on MP weeks than GM weeks. You get to stay at the Grand whichever one you use.

Acapulco is great. There is a lot to do, but we love just staying at the resort. It is our favorite destination/veg-out resort. It is ultimate R&R.
