Marriott Aruba Ocean Club owners - read

i believe ALLAN always tries to keep the owners current and signed up to receive the emails. i have always found him to be open and willing to listen when i have emailed him directly in the past. he ALWAYS returns my emails promptly and includes his phone # should i wish to speak with him directly.

Yes a lot more pro active compare to the Surf Club.
Up to now Allan is doing a great job.

Be careful. This kind of attitude by the President of Streamside-Aspen is what caused Marriott to walk away from that resort.

Okay I am confused - he is the president of the Ocean Club but not a Marriott employee? Is he an owner who was elected? I admit, I own at the SC but have never attended a meeting or paid too much attention to this sort of thing...it seems like he is at odds with the Marriott, which is why I am confused...?

yes cathy, allan is the president of the ocean club HOA. he has been voted in as president for i believe the last 3 or 4 years. no, he is NOT a marriott employee. IMO, he really cares about the ocean club and keeping it's owners both happy and totally up-to-date on the day to day at the ocean club.

In an earlier edition of the website info (that was modify within a few days...)
He stated: (Maybe not word to word except for the beginning)

We have to stay united to have Marriott change how they handle the management fee.
He was referring to the possibility to change the percentage they take for a fix annually amount.
He noted that the contract papers would permit such a change on certain conditions.
He was irritate about Marriott collecting a management fee even for the money we spent to upgrade the resort...

Wouldn't that be a rather odd situation if Marriott walked away from the Ocean Club? It's sitting right between the hotel and the Surf Club. Wouldn't be a very good sign to potential customers.
