Hi-

I tried to deposit a week in Hawaii for Christmas week 2009 (we can deposit 2 years in advance with II). I would really like an AC for a Hawaiian holiday week.

II was going to take the week until I asked about an AC. The rep said they weren't offering ACs for 2009 yet? (I had them cancel the deposit while still on the phone with them.)

I was told I could call back in Jan or Feb and see if they are offering bonus weeks for my deposit. The resort is a good/decent 2 bed (not a dog-and not super resort either) and not 5 star rated. I figured with a Christmas week deposit I would pretty much be assured an AC.

I'm a little annoyed to keep calling to see about getting an AC for my deposit. What do you think? Anyone getting ACs for 2009?

If this year was any indication of things to come, you might have to wait until early summer before knowing if your week qualifies for an AC.

You may not see any AC offers for 2009 until later into 2008. Typically AC offers arent available more than a year in advance.

So any suggestions on when to deposit?

Thanks for the quick replies.

Obviously, I was hoping to deposit as far out in advance-to maximize my trade power. Anyone have any experience on 2 years out in II vs. a year and a half or so. I was really looking forward to seeing what a 2 bed HI Xmas week would pull. At what point do you think I will lose trade power? What trade power would I really gain from depositing 2 years out? (vs. a year or so when I can get an AC week?)

Well, I can only speak from personal experience and what we learned from Craig Urbine when he used to post on these boards. In II I don't think you get much, if any, extra trade power depositing two years out. Personally I can't even deposit until 11 months out (because that's the earliest my resort allows me to reserve a week), and I don't see any difference in my deposits made 11 months out to ones made 5 or 6 months out. I ALWAYS wait until I get an AC to deposit - and as others have said, II doesn't offer them two years out - more like 6 to 9 months in advance (depending on the resort).
