Didn't get home from shopping before the snow started to fly and the roads became icy! Even going only 30 mph, ended up spinning out of control and putting our car in a ditch. Not even sure how it happened. Just lucky that no one was coming from the other direction when I crossed both lanes and ended up in a ditch in someone's front yard. Luckily, no one was hurt, and the car didn't even sustain any damage!! And no, I wasn't on the cell phone, or trying to change radio stations. Only remember hitting a bump in the road and that was it. Thought we were going to be hit by a large SUV that tried to stop and see if we were ok. They ended up spinning a couple of times and managed to stop in a driveway. WHEW - what a day!

Can't wait to head to Florida next Wednesday and get out of this snow!

So, happy you were OK. Wow, what a scary way to end the year.

Have a Great 2008. Enjoy Florida.

Today I slid on some ice and hit the curb. Though I did little damage but was incorrect. I tore up the rim, put a leak in the tire.

I decided to drive straight to the dealership. When they were moving the car, the wheel basically folded under the car.

I was blessed to be able to make it to the dealership. Now I have a rental and am waiting on my estimate. I have to decide if I want to pay for it or call in an insurance claim.

That stinks!!

Sorry to hear about your ditch incident. Right now, I hate the snow and ice.

Relieved to hear everyone is okay. DH has sticky tires put on my car. They make a huge difference. When he wakes up tomorrow, I'll find out what brand they are. When I say sticky, I mean the rubber is softer and sticks to the road better. Because they are softer, they do wear out faster but I can sure tell the difference between these tires and others even on dry pavement.
