I was just reading on another post that I.I. has a block in Orlando. What does that mean? Can I trade a Marriott unit in Orlando for a Disney unit? And can I travel anytime with my floating week, i.e. if I have a gold week, can I exchange into a platinum week somewhere else? What about w/in my own resort?

I do not know about a general II block in Orlando. But I do know that Disney has a regional block so no Orlando timshares can exchange into any of their Disney Worls timeshares.

II has an regional block on Orlando timeshares. You cannot trade an Orlando Marriott for a DVC Orlando resort or any other resort in Orlando.

Actually, that is correct. You cannot use your Orlando unit to trade into any other Orlando unit, Disney included, unless it is another Marriott. So you can trade Grande Vista for Marriott Cypress Harbour, but not for DVC properties located in Orlando.

I think the block is mainly for DVC. With my Orlando Horizon's, I can see all sorts of other non-Marriott Orlando resorts such as Vistana, Cypress Pointe, Parkway & Grand Beach.

It's not really an II block but rather an II option that the developer can opt for. It's much the same idea as the 1 in 4 with RCI. DVC does enforce it for all areas including VB, HH and Orlando. I know Marriott does not for HH, not sure about Orlando.
