Going to Buy Entertainment Book - Have a few Questions

Hi. We are going to St, Augustine in early April. Rapmarks suggested that buying the entertainment book might pay off. So I've checked it out and it's an excellent idea! Use of one trolly coupon will save us more than the cost of the book. Thanks Rapmarks!

The website says that I can print coupons right after I buy the book. Has anyone done this? There are several attraction that we are interested in that have "print this coupon now when you buy the book"... I'd like to print them all.... can I do that? Or can I print any/all coupons just as easily after I get my book and register my card?

I am asking as there will be 4 or 5 of us, so if coupons are not good for "up to X number of people", then I'd need 2 coupons to cover my group and get maximum savings. I am trying to see if I really need to buy 2 books or can print extra copuns off the website.

Thanks!

Careful, when you print them, they're good for about two weeks and they are quota controlled. Unless you want to eat at opposite ends of the restaurant and pretend like you don't know each other, it's normally one coupon per table or party.

Sunterra is correct. However, if you are careful in selecting restaurants and activities, based on what is in the book, you could save a lot of money. I always buy one for my vacations, and I typically buy at least 2 or 3 for the Boston area, where I live. I buy one when it's new and the others when they start clearing them out in the spring/summer time.

I printed coupons for the Sarasota area after purchasing the book and it worked well. Be careful though, good for only two weeks. Glad to see someone read my post. It was a couple of years ago, so book may have changed but we did a lot of things on that Entertainment book in St. augustine.

Looks like they're offering the online version for $4.95 per month, so for less cash outlay you get access to the online version of the book for one month. This can also work well for vacations.

How did you find out about this online version TOm PK?
When we were in nashville, we met someone who had done something on line like this and had printed up all the coupons she needed without buying the book. she said she had a special code number. I posted about this but never got a response.

I am glad I read your post too I went on line and was able to see some of the coupons we'd get and use. I have not bought the book yet... the price went down a few dollars in one day so thought I'd wait a bit longer.

Thanks everyone for the 2 week tip - it didn't mention anything like that and I would have printed them off right away and screwed it up.

The on line thing sounds like a great option too. If anyone has more info on that, please share!

Also wanted to ask... what exactly does having the card get me other than being able to print off coupons? Some books on sale on eBay say NO CARD. At least one auction said it it had the card but was missing some coupons. I am wondering if the cheaper eBay price would be ok with the card as I could print off coupons if they were missing...?

Some of the places, especially higher end restaurants, use the card instead of coupons from the book. No card = no discount.

While higher end restaraunts are not my family's thing, it sounds like having the card is a good thing. The book isn't that much right now anyway so I'll just buy a new one and be done with it.

Are they pretty quick on shipping books out? With the 2 week timeframe on printed out coupons, I am wondering if I buy the book at Day +13, print out some coupons that I will want 2 of, will the book get here by Day 0...?

you don't want to buy the book with no card.
However, the number of restaurants on the card gets smaller each year. I have used my card once, and my daughter used it once.
The nice thing about the cvard, is you can use it in any city if you find out what is on the card in that city.
I think St Augustine would not have blackout periods, but Fort Myers, Naples, Sarasota have blackout periods.

I will be going to NYC and was wondering if the Entertainment book has good restaurants. I will be staying at the Marriott Marquis so my preference would be restaurants in that area.
