Anyone get through to SVN today?

Trying to make my President's Week ressie for next year, called at 9am and have been on hold since then. It's now 9:25. I'm afraid to hang up and call again, lest I lose my place in the queue. Has anyone else called this morning and gotten through?
 
I didn't try to call today, but I thought about it briefly. Did you get through? Can you call with another phone to see if you get the same long queue?

I hope that you got through and got your reservation!
 
Boy it is so funny you posted this. I called this morning was on hold during my 20 minute drive to the office, called the "regular" number from my office (stayed on hold with elite), they answered in 3 minutes.

Made my reservation, then they answered my elite line call on my cell phone,

Unbeliveable- Note we are of to the Boardwalk Saturday (yes i know wrong board but Denise is gone)
 
Wow. That's exactly what I was worried about. :mad: I thought about calling the regular line from my cell phone, but every time I call that line, they insist on transferring me to the elite, so I didn't think that would help. I guess I should have tried it. They finally picked up at 9:38. Then kept me on hold twice more. It was 10:03 before I hung up.:annoyed:

Negma, have a great time at BWV! We're off to Harborside tomorrow! I'll think about you when I have my cosmo at Bimini Road ;)

Same experience. Super nice when they get through but come on - we have jobs!

Hi Arlene,

Did you get to listen to the same SPG American Express Ad over-and-over-and-over during your wait? I think I can still recite verbatim the one that I had to listen to for nearly 30 minutes last time I tried to book my villa with SVN.

Yup. Makes you want to scream "I ALREADY HAVE IT!!!" into the phone. :annoyed: But then once I got through and the lady put me on long holds twice, those were just soothing spa-type new agey kind of music--very soothing-- so my blood pressure came right back down ;)

It was busy both Sunday and Monday, but it is was worse over Easter and Christmas. Monday was the busiest day all week.

How did you finally make out.....she says in a new age kinda soothing voice - which in real life I do not have :wave:
 
Well, funny you should ask. All this time I thought I was on the waiting list. However, when I called to check up on it, it turns out that I was misinformed about the 4* elite benefit of being able to waitlist while keeping your reservation. Apparently, you can only do that at 8 months out :annoyed:. So I ended up having to cancel my reservation to go the waiting list, anyway-- just like before I was 4*:wall: . So all those people that said 4* was worthless-- you were right :(. Big waste of money...:doh:

What so good about 4* elite if you can't have a reservation and go into the waitlist? At 8 months, you will completing with everyone else...
 
I am confused about this.

If one is to trying to do an SVN exchange - how could it be out further than 8-months anyway?

For example - if I wanted to get an adjacent week to our STJ week using another SVO VOI - I could only do this at 8-months out.

Is there another type of instance in which you were trying to get waitlisted?

ps -were you trying to get another week at your Home Resort that was sold-out? - so you made a reservation for another week while being waitlisted for the sold-out week?

That's what I thought I could do. I thought I could waitlist for another week in my own season, while holding on to my existing reservation. It was the whole reason I went the whole requal route. But I can't do it after all. To use that "perk" I have to wait until 8 months out when, as myip rightly points out, I have to compete with all of SVN. I now formally retract any nice things I ever said about 4* being worthwhile. 4* officially sucks in my book.
