Cape Cod Recommendations?
We are taking our one year old to Cape Cod in May and will be staying at Cape Cod Holiday Estates. Does anyone have any suggestions for things to do and young kid friendly restaurants? Also, we would love opinions on the best seafood restaurants (especially for lobster), and ice cream shops in Cape Cod.

Four Seas Ice Cream in Centerville is noted for their ice Cream but I am not sure if it is open in May. There is a country store in that area.
http://www.fourseasicecream.com http://www.capecodtoday.com/index.ph...t=534&offset=0 I can vouch for the Somerset Creamery in Bourne as I know the owners who lived in the same town where the original creamery was. IN Harwich there is a place I have heard about called Sundae School but I have never eaten there. In Brewster on 6A- Captain Frosty's Soft serve and incredible fried clams and lobster rolls. Again I am not sure if they are open. Cape Cod Potato Chip Factory has a tour. In Wareham Rt 6 Lindseys Seafood is great. Great clam chowder and the Fisherman Platter for two is $35. You have to ask for it as it is not on the menu. Cape Cod Holiday Estates is right near Mashpee Commons Shops and Cinema. There is a nice grocer Roche Brothers in a plaza nearby and a Marshalls. I think there is also a Stop N Shop. My sil lives nearby.

Whale watching
I was on the Cape last May and the best thing I did was a whale watching trip from Provincetown -- it was awesome! Going to see the repro Mayflower is also interesting.

suggestions for the cape
Hi, I stayed at the Estates and it was peaceful and like having your own cottage at the cape... SUndae School is also in Orleans for icecreaam... the Jailhouse Tavern or Cafe is fun to eat and I saw lots of families there.. its also off in Orleans.. around Mashpee, there is Sandwich which is very quaint and yes the COmmons are right down the street with several eateries for everyone of all ages.... should be no problem. THe beach is also in the other direction. One thing we did was a day trip to Martha 's VIneyard.. we left the car in the Falmouth area , took the bus down to the boat and visited the island for the day. Your youngster might enjoy the boat ride and then of course if icecream is desired, there is Mad Martha's not far from the ferry terminal... have fun !!
