Questions about Southwest Ding

Hi,

I've tried searching this in the archives but can't find anything so if this has been asked and answered, I apologize.

I downloaded the Ding application, but when I set it up, I selected my destination airport for an upcoming trip, not the origination one. The deals I see coming up under "lunchtime specials" I think they call it are great prices, but they're going the wrong way. I can't figure out how to change my airport selections. I even deleted ding off my computer, restarted and re-installed it, but that screen that lets you pick the airports doesn't show up again--the computer seems to "remember" my original choice. Help, please!
I have a Macbook and am using Firefox if that helps.

My other question is the wrong-way fights I am seeing so far are great prices but aren't far enough in advance (I'll be traveling July 2, returning July 6). When I look at the regular fares on the Southwest site, they are significantly higher, and the $89 ones I saw briefly are gone. Would you advise I grab the best price that's available now, or wait until the trip is closer and try to get "dinged?"

Thank you!

I would go ahead and grab it when you see a good price. If it appears in DING closer to you departure date, you can cancel you original reservation and use the credit towards your ding purchase. You will have credit to use towards a future trip.

If you open the ding icon, at the top you will see "update registration". You can add or remove airports as you wish.

July is busy. I'd book it.

Thank you! I actually had to look around a little bit--it's in a drop down menu that appears up in the tool bar, not actually on the Ding page.

I know--not only is July busy, but it's the week of the 4th. I'm kicking myself for not making my husband think a little harder about finalizing our dates when I saw the $89 nonstop--now there's a $98 with one stop-over, but maybe I should grab it.

I wasn't aware you could do that--wow, I guess we are fairly protected then. Would I call Southwest to do that or are the Dings only available online?

Once you book your flight you are given a reservation #.

If you find the price cheaper on DING, you would do the following:

Using the travel tools page from Southwest (online), you would select "Cancel Air reservation". Once you complete the cancellation, you will used that credit towards the DING booking online. When you book your ding, you can apply travel funds from cancelled reservations.

Ding can only be purchased online.

The process is rather easy.

Could you also do this just by changing your reservation rather than cancelling? That's how I've made changes when the fares have gone down.
