Maritime Beach Resort - No. Myrtle Beach

Does anyone have a current opinion regarding subject resort?
(RCI #5042)
I've got a unit on hold, but the Tug reviews are scary.

The pictures for the resort seem to show improvement over the past few years.

Anyone here that will admit to being an owner?

Thanks in advance.

How to move this thread?

I see now that my question should be posted in a different section.
I misunderstood the part that says:
'questions related to traveling to timeshare resorts'.

Maritime Beach Club

Maritime Beach Club is managed by Defender Resorts...

Defender manages Ocean Time in Ocean City Maryland

Drove past the Maritime Beach Club earlier this month
The building is located on Ocean Drive in North Myrtle Beach
not far from Main Street & the NMB Shag Clubs/Restaurants

If you were to get a Summer week
in a 2 Bedroom it might be worth it

Not an owner but I've stayed there on a couple of occasions, most recently about a year and a half ago. All units are direct oceanfront and IMO the 2-BR units are quite nice - full balcony and an oceanfront bedroom.

The studios are small and the 1-BR's would feel even smaller, and neither of those have sit-down balconies, just little ledges you can stand on. For 2 people I'd probably take a studio over a 1-BR, because I like to hear the surf as I fall asleep, and I think the studios have a murphy bed right next to the sliding glass door.

They have free highspeed computer and wi-fi in the lobby.

The units were clean but checking in we did have a problem w/the first unit we were given - 2 heaters that smelled so bad when we turned them on, we couldn't use them. This was in the fall, and perhaps the first chilly nights of the season. We complained and got relocated to one which didn't have any problems - if they hadn't moved us, I'd have given the place thumbs down. We had a great stay in the second unit.

I see its RCI rating dropped from Silver Crown back to Hospitality.
