I was going to have some points left over, so I converted to II. Have any Hyatt owners had any luck with one bedroom DVC exchanges? I really do not want Old Key West or Saratoga Springs, have stayed at both and really want one of the other 3 resorts. I have had great success with left over Hyatt points in II, but I was curious about this pending request. It has only been 7 days, so it is not like it has been months - just curious about any other experiences. I guess we will see if Hyatt II points really are the tiger traders!

With II it is a hit an miss! What dates are you trying to get DVC?
I notice with Marriott during prime summer and prime winter in Tahoe it is very hard to trade while a marriott owner has no problem getting to trade into their own marriott system for the same time frame.

Please keep us posted if you get your II trade. Im sure if you put it on the DVC board somebody would love to trade and get you Hyatt week.

Hyatt vs DVC Points

Problems is I am only giving a portion of the points - I would not mind trading between an owner for a portion of my points. I am only using 870 points for a November week at DVC. I guess I need to find out how many DVC points it would take for this week and convert it to Hyatt points. But, I know I do not want to give up anymore then 870 points.

just trade it for a 1 bedroom unit at DVC period!!! Bronze cooper or mountian time trade with DVC owner some times you have to do a silver week it will cost you 920 hyatt points but sometime it is worth a great trade and NO II costs involved!!!

you need 200+/- DVC points

fyi--A 1 BR runs anywhere from 214 points (VWL, BWV, etc.) to 174 points for BWV-standard view. This assumes you are not staying over Thanksgiving. The out of pocket cost in maintenance fees for 200 points is about $1K.

I am looking for Thanksgiving

The week requested is Thanksgiving, I can stay at any Marriott in Orlando for that specific week - so if we go we want to try to get DVC. II does not get the Hyatt week until my request is filled and it is now 8 days since I put the request in. The longest I have ever waited was 8 days. I know that many DVC members use their week, but I also know just like Hyatt some folks do not. I cannot fathom why someone would not use their weeks, but we all know they sometimes do not for different reasons. When I purchased my Hyatt points, the lady had LCUP and CUP points, so I basically purchased 3 years worth of points. That is one reason why I always have some points in II. We live in Florida, so we can wait, we do not have to book airfare. I was just curious if anyone had any luck with Hyatt points in II for a one bedroom. I can pull a studio for the Thanksgiving week, but we really need the space of the one bedroom with kids. We have stayed at the Boardwalk, Saratoga Springs and once at the Yacht Club. It is a different experience staying on property. We went to the Marriott Grande Vista over Presidents week and enjoyed our vacation and the Marriott was nice, but I would still prefer DVC. We will see if Hyatt points will pull the week, I know it is not an easy request - but who knows.....

II only gets DVC weeks if a DVC member needs II

DVC does not work on regular weeks--it's points and DVC decides WHICH week get deposited to II--and only deposits when a DVC member is using an II week, so there are very limited deposits and only for sporadic weeks. A DVC holiday week is difficult to get thru II. It is possible, but tough.

Also, unlike other timeshares, I think that there are very few DVC owners that just let their points sit in accounts without using them.

Good luck with a DVC 1 bedroom during Thanksgiving week. That will be a little harder to get through II, but you never know. Disney doesn't usually deposit holiday weeks (except maybe a studio) like they do off season from my experience.

I'm writing this from Marriott's Cypress Harbour - it's as good or better than DVC as far as cleanliness, beds/linens, etc. - just you're not on Disney property.

Good luck.
