Extra Day at MP

Hi all,

Thanks to the "wonders" of frequent flyer awards (I think one day they'll just tell us "you can use your FF awards on either day X or day Y"), my wife and I will have one extra day in Cancun.

We're owners at the MP, and I'm wondering if any of you have managed to pay for an extra night at the MP?? I thought I had read here where somebody had, but can't find the post.

I also need to find a place to stay in Cancun for two days, but I'll make a separate thread for that discussion.

Sometimes they will let you pay a the equivalent amount of one day's MF per extra day you stay. At least that is what they did for us the first time we stayed at the MP in Acapulco for 3 days - we had just bought and were staying in a dump. They let us move over for the pro-rated MF per day. I have read that someone else paid basically the same for an extra day. They may use this as part of your VF time for the year. It would be worth checking out - that would be lower than their rental rates!
