rci vs raintree

Question from a newbie.....i wanted to know do i need to join raintree vc in order to have 144k points (emerald) for my timeshare or could i just join rci and have 144k points to use thru rci????

There are only a handfull of people who post here who seem to know about Raintree. Hopefully one can answer your question.

In the mean time, I'm moving this from the buying, selling board to the board where RCI points is generally discussed.

thanks Bill. I was wondering...would it seem wiser to buy an inexpensive ts on ebay for the rci pts and use that instead of joining rvc (they want 6k) to have the emerald 144k points? To me...as a newbie...I would think I'd be better off spending less $4 buying a cheap resale (South Africa seems to have low mf's) and then exchange that each yr. to use towards going other places. I work for an airline so we can fly very cheaply and my job is fairly flexible to I may be able to take advantage of the rci 9k/45 day exchanges....

Any opinions would be gratly appreciated.
