Has anyone stayed at this timeshare this year since they force all sliding doors to stayed closed for cleaning the building? We were already confirmed there before we learned of that issue and are so disappointed not to be able to sit out on a deck/patio to watch the ocean. I usually spend most of my time on the balcony.

WE are due to be there in early May and can't decide if we should cancel.

I doubt that they have all units closed off at the same time. The 2 towers are several years apart in age--I'm not going til Sept , so not worried about it yet. I'd call the resort and find out how it's actually being done!

The sliding doors are only being closed a section at a time that matches the outside work area.

We have 2 units booked for this October and before confirming the extra vacation I called the resort. They have the south tower totally finished (ahead of schedule) and expected the north tower to be done before the end of the summer. Please let us know how you liked the resort, we have family from England joining us there this fall.

We are hear now and had a terrible experience with the front desk. We are in the section that is being cleaned but our room 516 doesn't even have a balcony we look at a roof, a large air conidinitioning unit, the scalfolding they use to powerwash the building. We tried for weeks to get a person to give a true picture or try to request a certain area but each had a different story. :wall: We were lied to by the asst desk manager or guest services whichever title she decides to give you at the moment so she isn't accountable. So good luck in trying to request a certain area. It's a good way for Wyndom to push their VIP membership. On the plus side They are only doing two banks of balconys at a time. So you'd think, what are the chances? I hope it works out for you.
P.S. Wyndam did give us half our points back

Unit X15 is the corner unit and it great, but any unit from X16 to X19A/B are going to be looking at the wall at the Adams Mark, unless you are on floor 18 or 19.

I agree that is why I like VIP at Wyndham. I pay attention to room positions and book the better units.

Sorry to hear about your situation, the wyndham forum has information about unit numbers at Daytona. I know they do because I posted them there. Others contribute as well for other properties. It does pay to find out more, and that more is ususally not from reservations.

On a side note, Daytona has the most stupid bunch of employees that I have ever encountered at Wyndham. I have been frustrated there more than any other Wyndham location. I have booked rooms back to back, in order to not change rooms after the first week I have asked them to place a do not move notice on the reservation, and still they assign me to a completely different room for the first week and a seperate unit the next week. Unacceptable, but it took them 3 days to fix it. I have had this happen several times but ONLY at Daytona.
