Hi to all. My husband and I just got back from the Big Island where we spoke with Hilton about a timeshare. This is what they would give us. 12,600 points every other year plus 15,000 bonus points for signing. This is for the new King's Land, Waikoloa 2 bedroom plus platinum at $25,000. We live on Oahu and Island hop as one our vacations each year. The other vacation would be a mainland vacation (not taken every year) and as our small children get older, would like to travel worldwide. Is this a good deal or should we look somewhere else? Much Mahalos for your replies...

If you want a bargain to book in Hawaii and travel other places, consider purchasing Wyndam resale...you can get about 300,000 points that will get you more than enouph to do whatever you want for $3000-5000 and maintenance fees around $900-1400 a year. That will get you 1.5 weeks on any Island in Hawaii (except MK) in a 2 bedroom. I'd say that is a better price than purchasing from the developer.

If you are interested in Hilton, buy resale, that price is higher than you can get if you bought it on the resale market.

IMHO, HGVC is a great company and if you want to visit the Big Island the 3 TS in the Wiakoloa area are all very nice.

BUT HGVC has treated resale buyers of the TS GREAT! therefore there is little reason to buy direct from HGVC. Buy resell and save at least $10,000.

For ~$13,000, you can buy a annual TS in LV worth 7000 annual pts. Then use those points to go to any of the Hawaii TS making reservations at the 9 month mark.

So for ~ $13K, you'd get 7000 pts each year (14K EOY) or you can buy from HGVC and pay $25K for 12,600 EOY pts. I'd save the $12,000 and buy the annual points.

Good Luck and Welcome to TUG!!
