LAX - international flights

How early should I get to LAX for an international flight leaving tonight at 10:30pm?

They say 2 hours early.. but I'd like other opinions

thanks

Well, last international flight I was on (Virgin Atlantic) they closed the check in counter a half hour ahead, then they walked to the plane and closed its door, too. If you weren't checked in and on thirty minutes ahead, you didn't get on. No "hey, I'm in line, waiting to check my bag" type stuff for them.

Don't know about any other airline...isn't it just better to be safe and go with the suggested time rather than risk spoiling your vacation? Don't forget it takes time to get to the airport, etc., too. Even though it is off hours, there could always be an accident or something, especially in SoCal.

We allow three hours for international at LAX -- just too many 'problems' can delay like a super long line at Security, traffic getting to airport, etc.

It just ain't worth it to cut it too close.

I agree that 3 hours would be safer.

The Tom Bradley Terminal where the international flights come in and out of is known as one of the slower terminals and over used terminals at LAX.
