Hey, did you all see our own DeniseL in this month's SVN newsletter on MSC?

Nice picture of you and your family, Denise!

Could someone post the link? Nice going, Denise!!!

Do you own a Starwood resort? If so, log into your mystarcentral.com account. If not, you won't be able to see the article.

Better yet, meet Denise in person. :D I was so lucky to meet her, her hubby and her two children too. I love meeting TUGgers and it is one of my goals when we are in a timeshare. :) I also met Cindy and Rick of Colorado and Sterling (Kauai Kid) and his wife just recently in Maui.

Try to post where you are so other people know that you are there and can meet up with you, if they happen to be at the same resort. ;) Some of us keep a calendar together so we know where everyone is and it works, great. :D

It's scary when you see your name in a thread title...

Thanks, Glorian  .

SVO certainly reads these forums. I received an email after a post not so long ago (tax rebate discussion), so they wanted to talk to me about it.

I hope our rebate comes soon so I can work on my "hobby" :D ...(also known as an addiction)!

Congrats Denise and yes Starwood does read this. They recently contacted me from a TUG posting and they are now doing a story on our family. We will see how it turns out.

Congratulations! What a great picture of your family too. :)

:cheer:

Oh, and I am glad Starwood reads this board! This should be a great source of constructive feedback for them. If I were working for the company, I would pour over this board daily. :)

Denise, are you willing to post your picture? We, non-Starwood owners, cannot read the article or see your picture. ;)

Are we allowed to copy articles here?

The photo is the same one that I used in DeniseM's photo thread (the one with my DH and kids), so you guys have already seen that one  .

OK, I will find it. :) I don't know if you can copy the article. If it is copyrighted, you can't unless you ask permission first.

Travel Using Your Tax Rebate
Vacations a Popular Choice For
Spending Americans
May 2008

Scores of Americans are planning a getaway this year—and they'll be using their tax rebate check to fund their vacations.

As the checks—which are part of an economic stimulus plan approved earlier in 2008—begin appearing in mailboxes, Americans will take advantage of the windfall by traveling.

You and other Starwood Vacation Ownership Owners have a number of options to choose from, including visiting your Home Resort, exchanging into another Starwood Vacation Ownership resort, or booking adventure travel through Signature Escapes(SM).

Californian Denise Lew, an Owner at The Westin Ka'anapali Ocean Resort Villas, is planning to use a portion of her rebate on airfare for her 2009 visit to her Home Resort.

"I have two children that I want to spend quality time with, and if I can find extra money, I'm certainly going to use it," Denise said.

Many Americans also will find "extra money" in 2008. This year, more than 60 percent of consumers had already filed their tax return by March and the majority expected a refund, according to the National Retail Federation. Of those consumers, 12 percent said they would use the funds for a vacation.

And a recent poll by the Consumer Electronics Association found that Americans receiving a tax rebate check will spend nearly 7 percent—or $7.5 billion—on travel and vacations, the fifth most popular planned usage.

With nearly one in 10 Americans planning to take a trip using their rebate check, according to a survey by travel insurance company Access America, Denise is far from alone.

"With any extra money I find, I always ask myself, 'Where can I travel?'" she said. "It's my hobby."

Hobby? You mean it's more like an obsession! :D :D
