Virginia Beach vs. Myrtle Beach - how do they differ?

I'm wondering, if you have been to both, which do you prefer and why? What do they share in common and how do they differ? I get the impression that Myrtle Beach has more activities such as shows and attractions, but I don't know a lot about either location.

Resorts: Wyndam Bonnet Creek (311,000pts) Wyndam Nashville (189,000pts) Sheraton Vistana (Fountains) Presidential Resort, VA
I personally prefer Myrtle Beach as its more family oriented and spread out. There is lots to do with in short driving distance and lots of amusement parks for the kids, and the beach (when I go) isn't is crowded. (The amusements they have is waterpark, family kingdom, Ripleys believe it or not acquarium which is one of my favorites..they just opened Hard Rock Amusement Park, MagiQuest (a unique gaming experience for kids of all ages)) and the list goes on. That's why I go there every year.

VA Beach I like for me and my older kids, as the boardwalk is a nice addition, and the only thing we do there is the Virginia Acquarium, beach, some driving distance away is Williamsburg.
