Myrtle Beach restaurant recommendations

We'll be heading to Myrtle Beach (Marriott's Ocean Watch) for the 2nd week of June. It will be four adults and two small children (both under 4). Can anyone recommend some good restaurants? We do enjoy going to seafood buffet's and would love to hear about a good one. Any other restaurants that are good for our group will be helpful. Thanks for the help.

There was a post asking this a short while ago. It should still be around. Maybe, someone, can tell the OP where to find it. However, some of the restaurants were not for children.

I did a search for Myrtle Beach and didn't find anything. The recent one may be the one about Hilton Head? If there is another post and someone finds it, please point me to it. Thanks.

It's not a buffet, but I love Phillip's seafood - great crab soup. It's right across the street from Broadway at the Beach.

For good steak, Hubby liked T-Bones - across the street from Phillip's Seafood.

And we always go to the Nascar Cafe for lunch or dinner - Hubby is a huge Nascar fan. Burgers and such but a fun place to go if you're a fan.

That's all I can think of right now - I'm sure more will come to me later.

All the Seafood joints down in Murrells Inlet are pretty good. The Plantation is my personal favorite.

You get back into the countryside, little towns like Andrews, there's a fantastic cafteria at the intersection of 521 and 41. Great BBQ and soul food.

Also in Greeleyville, a little railroad car diner right downtown does some great seafood specials.

Cheeseburger in Paradise, for great drinks, fun atmosphere, and yummy food. A fun Casual dining experience that makes you feel like you in the islands with live bands and ALL KINDS of acoholic and non-acoholic drinks. I also second on Phillips, we have one where I live and I have gone to this one and the food was yummy.

Go to this link:

We're heading to MB around the same time. From the research I've done, I hear that Crabby Mike's, Captain Bennett's and the Original Benjamin have pretty good seafood buffets.

Go to this link for recommendations/suggestions on MB and also there is a discussion on page 3 of this link about the seafood buffets;

We're not a fan of buffets but Benjamins is on our "yuck" list.
Try any of the restaurants at Broadway at the Beach-Uno's is good, Tripps, Key West Grill and a small Italian restaurant whose name escapes me for the moment.

Question

The Flamingo Grill (Steak & Seafood Grill) and the Sea Captain's House Restaurant at 3000 N. Ocean Boulevard. We did not like the Crabhouse located in N. Myrtle Beach.

You have to remember "Sea food " in the low country is pretty much like "fried batter"--pretty durn greasy.

Most everyone on Tug (including me) love the Sea Captains House. I hear they closed Mrs. Fish (one of my fav) and you have to go to Hoskins which is on Main Street of No. Myrtle Beach. I also like Pier 14, behind the Yachtsman. Depending on where you are staying you can go to either Murrill's inlet (so Myrtle ) or Calabash (No. Myrtle) Shaggy

Rioz behind Planet Hollywood. It's a Brazilian steakhouse.

www.rioz.com $34.99 pp for a great experience. 15 types of meats on skewers served by brazilian gauchos and a terrific salad bar. Great service.

A secret

I hate to even let others know about my little hole-in-the-wall place: Fat Jack's in Surfside! It is a storefront that is only open for dinner. When you go, try a sample of the house wings, garlic parmesan wings and teriyaki wings. Don't forget an ice cold Yuengling in a frosty mug. The kids will love the soda served in a mini individual pitcher and the video games they can play while you relax. We visit Fat Jacks several times during the week and miss it terribly all year until we return. You won't find better, crispier wings!
