If I deposit a week starting 6/30/09 in my weeks acct, then convert it later to PFD in my points acct which has a usage year of 3/30, would those points expire 6/30/11 or 3/30/11?

Unless you were going to use them immediately, why would you want to do a PFD now?

not depositing now

I have a summer beach week. I am not depositing until Feb 2009 (going to try to direct trade, etc. 1st). I will deposit as a week 1st and if I don't pull what I want b/c of later deposit, I will PFD it, as a back-up. Because it is on the generic grid, I really don't get nearly the PFD that it is worth--so that is my last choice---and whether it has 3/30 vs. 6/30 expiration makes a big difference in whether I even consider PFD.

PDF Check-in goes with USE-YEAR

The way it is suppost to work is the following:
PDF points are part of the use-year that contains the check-in date of the space-banked deposit.

I am assuming (based on your desciption) that your 2009 use-year is from 4/1/2009 to 3/30/2010. If you check-in date is 6/30/2009 it falls within your 2009 use-year. Your 2009 use-year points will expire at the end of your 2010 use-year (3/30/2011).

If the OP does the PFD of her unit with a 2009 check-in during her 2008 use year (i.e. prior to April of 2009), I would think the points would be part of the 2008 use year, since they will be available for use immediately.

If the week's use date is 6/30/09, then regardless of *when* she deposits it, it won't be available for use (in Points) until her 2009 use year. You can't "pre-use" a PFD like you can in weeks.

Thanks for the clarification.

Use of PDF points

In your example with a 2008 use-year (4/1/2008 to 3/30/2009) and a space-banked week with a check in of 6/30/2009 the following would work:

A week can be banked with RCI two years prior to the check-in date. So you could have banked your week as early as 6/30/2007 and requested a PDF that would have added the points into your 2009 use-year. Since you can borrow points from the upcoming use-year, the 2009 points could be used during your 2008 use-year starting on 4/1/2008.

However, depositing the points on a week that was banked that early might not be a timely use. Most of the time I have the PDF transferred just prior to the 90 days before the check-in date where I can still get full point value for the week. That way I have a week in my “Weeks Account” that I can do online searches (because week searches allows me to see more inventory that the points search).
