Branson Airport

Does anyone have information about the Branson airport? We are planning a trip for Christmas this year and want to know if the new airport is supposed to be finished by then. If so, how do I find out which airlines will be servicing the airport and their schedules? It seems like we were told a few years ago that it would be finished by now. Maybe I'm just getting old and can't remember as well as I used to?

No, the new airport will not be open by then.

I will be surprised if they get a discount carrier, like SW, because of the state the airlines industry is in right now and because they cannot guarantee enough passengers.

Yeah, they keep saying they are going to get it done, but Springfield and Branson are not work together. SW supposedly needs a million passengers a year. Springfield has that, but they say only 10% come to Branson.

But, there are big plans for the Branson airport, with big money planning to build a big new luxury hotel there, not unlike all the other big projects going on right now.

I bet a lot of those whose big money it is are a little uncomfortable with this extremely soft economy.

Here is a forum where you can find out about Branson topics:

Looks like we'll be flying into Springfield, Kansas City, or maybe even St. Louis. We'll see what the flights and prices look like. Thanks for the info.
