selling time share in cape town

Hi I am currently in the process of selling a week in Cape Town and with those funds would like to purchase, to enable me to go to say Thailand every other year. I was thinking to buy the Starwood Vacation Ownership, however there is a big price difference from developer to aftermarket.If I were say to buy at Shereton Vistana Villages , a 2 br lock out , on the aftermarket would I be able to get StarPoints and Staroptions , or does Staroptions only come from the developer in this instance
