Any chance of getting an exchange to any one of these in September 08?

WorldMark Windsor would be your best bet.

Swift, Was wondering if you could give me some more info on this one beyond what is on the resort site.

I travel to Santa Rosa for family reasons about 9 to 11 times a year (mostly Friday and Saturday night ocassionally 3-4 nights) and have been staying at either the Hilton in Santa Rosa or the DoubleTree in Rohnert Park via Priceline.

I have been pondering if it would be worth while to purchase some resale timeshares and try to use points to stay here weekends, it would be nice to get the 1 BR unit.

Anything you could share about the property would be appreciated.

Thanks,

We received an exchange into the "Suites at Fisherman's Wharf" several years ago. It is in a great location, I would go back and stay there in a second, we really enjoyed our trip.

In the CA sticky at the top of this board I have included some info regarding Sonoma County. Read through those and if you have more specific questions PM me and I will be glad to help.

I believe that DAE gets Donatello deposits regularly, sometimes just a few months out.

Donatello Club was fabulous, if you are 2 travellers who can use a hotel room - the location couldn't have been more perfect, equal to our experience at Manhattan Club, except the staff at Donatello is more eager to be of service.

In 2006 I saw an Xmas week online, put it on hold, and then got a maintenance fee paid up so I could make my deposit into DAE and complete the exchange - how easy is that? For DAE to conduct an ongoing search for you, it's possible you have to have a week already on deposit with them, I can't remember. You could call them and find out how likely it would be that they could get you a Sept. week.

Wyndham-Fairfield is opening a resort in SF later this year. You can buy resale points very cheaply, and book here or anywhere else for short stays. I'm not sure you'd be able to book 1 night only unless they had it left over and not part of a block of dates, 60 days prior or less. Worldmark is also Wyndham, but a different points system which I'm not familiar with. From the Wyndham-Fairfield website regarding future resorts...

Wyndham Vacation Resorts San Francisco

Leave your heart in San Francisco with the scheduled opening of the 116-unit Wyndham Vacation Resorts property in San Francisco. Located on fashionable Sutter Street in the heart of the hotel district in downtown San Francisco, the resort will put you everywhere you want to be in the metropolitan city. Just two blocks away you will find the world famous Cable Cars and three blocks away you can enjoy fabulous Union Square with its shops, restaurants and department stores. The resort will feature 20 Presidential Suites along with studios and one-bedroom units.

* Expected to open Fall 2008
* Architectural rendering; changes may occur during construction
