Orlando mini-van rentals
What's the best way to get the best price for an Orlando mini-van rental. We are going in July and the prices for a week are well over $400 with fees. I'd like to try and get it under that amount, but it seems like the prices are just increasing every few days. I'm monitering the usual internet sites. It's probably summer demand for the area, but there's got to be a place or time when the prices drop. In comparison, the same rental in mid-October drops by $25/day.

Near to our office there's a company called Priceless Rent A Car, who does pick people up at the airport, and bring you back to the office as long as the area isn't inconvenient to you. Exit 55 of I-4 at Hwy 27. We've used them before for visiting clients and friends. If you're interested, send me a PM and I'll give you his number.

which rental agency are you using? Last year, but in May, not prime season, we rented a mid size SUV from Alamo at MCO for about 192.00 for 8 days. When we arrived at Alamo they told DH to take anything in the 1st row. We ended up a a mini van 7 seater

The entertainment book offers significant discounts. We have just booked a mid size SUV for $459 for two weeks through Alamo; regular price was >$650. The 2008 books are on sale now for $9.99 and most coupons are good thru November 1, 2008 but the car rental coupons are good until June 2009. We have purchased the Orlando book since we are also heading there in June. The book has a $5.00 off at Publix, many pizza discounts, $5 off at Planet Hollywood, free admission at Gatorland... Good luck.

MCO (is that the right code?) has always had very nice prices through Priceline and Hotwire.
Because we do not fly into there, I have found the best prices with National Emerald Club, using discount codes found on the Internet and on-line coupons. I delete emails every day from Priceline and Hotwire bragging about their low Orlando rates.

Check out Enterprise Rent-a-Car. They have decent rates that usually undercut the major airport-based rental companies. See: http://www.enterprise.com/car_rental/home.do

I ended up finding a standard SUV rate in the low $30's/day so I took it. We'll manage with the space and seating. I am still follow rates to see if something better can come along, but not seeing it. There is an upward trend. Yesterday morning Hotwire had minivan rentals at MCO for 7/5-7/12 at $142/day. I thought it may be a system error on their part, but today it is the same.

Our family is in Orlando this week. We got a mini-van through Priceline for less than $200 for the week, fees and taxes included. At the Alamo counter they gave us a free upgrade from a 7-passenger to an 8-passenger.

In addition to the above suggestions, check out Enterprise Rent-a-Car... you'll find that the better prices are at "city" (off-airport) offices. They'll pick you up and take you back. I did a one-day rental recently and for $30, they offered me a mini-van, but I chose a sedan.
