I am experiencing a nightmare purchase from bogieman200( 8 ) ... I made the only bid and now I feel as though the rest of the world knew a secret of which I was unaware... my purchase price was GREAT ($1)... it is the $400 which the seller wants to collect for unspecified 'closing cost'.... Plus... the seller will not provide an identifying address or telephone number...
Seller will not provide a purchase agreement..unit is not identified in listing by number & week..seller
will not provide copy of deed nor will seller identify recorded deed's book & page numbers..seller
will not identify transfer agent nor will seller use a bonded & licensed service..seller has not paid
current year's annual maintenance fee & therefore, resort will not transfer title..seller will not
use escrow service..eBay online help suggested I not proceed with purchase..

eBay is GREAT when all goes well... but when problems occur, it is cumbersome and a nightmare to resolve... Joe Tragesser... jgtragesser@yahoo.com

The listing states this is a private party. No feedback as a seller, only a handful as a buyer.
Unless closing can be done through a legitimate Closing Company, I would take Ebay's advice and drop this one. My understanding is real estate auctions legally cannot be binding.

From Ebay:

Certain eBay online auctions involve non-binding bids (for example, some real estate auctions). Non-binding bidding is not a contract between seller and buyer. However, non-binding bids represent a buyer’s serious expression of interest in buying the seller’s item. Furthermore, insincere bidding is not permitted.

See this page for details ...

Run, as fast as you can.

I would drop that one like a hot potato. But, if you're intent on continuing and haven't tried this already, you can use this link to get the seller's contact information (as known to eBay). Note, this will also result in your contact info being sent to him. If this guy's a crook, his contact info is probably bogus.

I read this about someone else's experience and decided to check on my seller since I was worried. He knows I checked up on him but I have not received a name and address from ebay. What should they send me if I clicked on the link and followed the directions. Shouldn't I receive the seller's contact information as known to ebay?

thanks for any help

Have the seller provide you with ownership information that you can verify with the resort (this should be provided in a sales agreement). If the seller won't do this, then I would back out. 2008 MF and assessment (according to listing) haven't been paid because you'll be paying them as you'd have 2008 usage.

Yep, that's what you should expect. The link comes from this page (step 5). Check your bulk/spam folder(s) - you may find it there.
