I have a chance to stay at Marriott's Sabal Palms in Orlando, Florida and I've never been there before.

Can someone tell me how large the two bedroom Villas are? How old is the complex? Is it a quiet resort? Does it have the look and feel of a 5 star resort like it should, or does it need updating?

Any other information you can provide?

Thanks for your input!

I'm not sure whether it has been updated or not, but we took a look-through a few years ago and thought it seemed very nice. It did seem rather quiet and it was summer. The really nice thing is that you get full use of the amenities at the Orlando World Center Marriott Hotel and Resort (in addition to their own pool at Sabal Palms). I've heard that the amenities there are great.

I stayed at Sabal Palms this past October. It's comfortable but it's showing it's age. When we checked in we had to relocate to another room because AC broke down. It's very quite and really most people use the amenities at the Marriot World Conference Center which is very close(across the street).
There are three gorgeous pools with restaurants cafe's etc. It's also very convenient to Disney and other Orlando attractions.

It Needs Help...

I had a reservation there for my mother and her friends in the spring. While in town during the New Year's holiday, we toured the property and checked out a room. Simply put, it was really bad and I immeidately called II and asked for a change in property.

The room we looked at was quite bad - old, worn out, and smelling of smoke and mildew. Tiles were broken, carpet was worn through to the weave, counters and furniture had cigarette burns.

We ended up with Cypress Harbor, which was terrific.

If they cannot guarantee you a refurbished room, I would not stay there. They were supposed to begin the refurbishment in April, so you might ask the question.

I was very surprised that a Marriott property was in this condition. I am an absolute Marriott loyalist, and was very disappointed.

Maybe people accept it because they spend all of their time at the World Center.

Sorry to deliver bad news, as I usually don't like to. I just know that I would want to be aware...

Good luck.
