Can anyone recommend a closing company, attorney or paralegal who can provide resonable cost and reliable title transfer in canada?

It would appear that the US closing companies can not do title transfer in canada. Meanwhile the resort that I am dealing with (WhiskiJack) used to do fast and efficient closings but now they are anything but (can't even get a phone call returned).

Sorry, the only closing we done in Canada were done by the people at the resort. ( one took 11 months and one 1 month)

You would be best to get a Notary in Whistler to handle the closing for you. The process shouldn't take that long.

That's not good news, Brad.. Since we just sent another closing there at your request a few days ago...... When the canadian ownership is deeded, you are normally required to use a solicitor (sometimes two if they won't agree to represent both sides). We normally obtain Solicitor referrals from the resorts.. I don't think you'll have much luck finding an independent solicitor anywhere near the same price you are currently paying!
