We are thinking of using a week to stay at Marriott Horizons in Orlando during Christmas week. Has anyone been there during this time of year? Is it usually too cold to use the pools? Any insight into the weather and/or the resort is very appreciated. Thanks.

Its not too cold to swim, but the weather is a bit unpredictable. One day its really hot, the next day (more so at night) its a bit cool (about 72 degrees), and at night you are more likely to wear sleaves. Most places have heated pools so we have always gone swimming with no discomfort.

Last year was cold:eek: Anyone who was there over New Year's should remember that. There were some good discussions about it on TUG. BUT, we truly had a great time anyway! The reason why I love timesharing so much is because I've begun to vacation enough where I don't feel so dependent on the weather being great - and the villas are usually so nice that we don't mind spending time in them. Unlike being crammed in a hotel room with 5 people. EEK!

Have fun!

We stayed across the golf course at Grande Vista the week before last year. The big news in Florida was the cold spell. It was in the upper 60s to mid 70s. Back home it was below freezing. There were still plenty of people in the pools. You can always tell the northerners who, darn it, are in Florida and are going in the pool. We were at Disney one February when everybody was wearing the comforters from their hotels while waiting for the fireworks. That was a good time to be a yankee. We still had the winter gear we wore to fly down.
