I didn't take note of the company name but I just had a call from someone who, for $200, would send me a list of brokers who sell timeshares. Then I could call each one and find out what their fees would be to sell my timeshare.

Boy, did I whip out my credit card.....:hysterical:

A cheaper alternative...

While I am certainly not touting either the virtues of (or subscriptions to) Timesharing Today magazine, a publication with which I am generally unimpressed, they do routinely publish a list of timeshare brokers who do NOT collect (or even attempt to collect) upfront fees to sell a timeshare. The publication further describes the fee / commission structure for each broker listed. I think that avenue of information would be about a $180 or so savings over the "special offer" which you have so foolishly declined.

List? Yes, Details? No...

pretty sure this provides that list for free doesnt it?http://tsxmls.com/

Unlike a mere "list", the Timesharing Today descriptions also elaborate a bit on such details as minimum commission, terms, geographic area (or system) of coverage or specialty, etc.

Again, however, I'm certainly not peddling subscriptions to a publication which I generally don't find to be of much other use or interest (...just my personal opinion). I'm merely pointing out its existence as a source of the particular information identified above. :ignore:

The really important question is "What do you own?"... If it isn't an interval with a high resale demand- the brokers won't accept the listing.. Most brokers require a miminum of $1,000- with many commission levels up to $5,000.. If it won't sell for that- they aren't going to touch it unless there is some type of up-front fee affiliation.

Just a little nugget that I don't think many people understand until they've called some of the people on those lists and been told - "No thank you"...
