Does Starwood have special deals for stays at Orlando timeshares for owners?

I do not have the use of this year or next year's staroptions and my DVC is already booked for springbreak 2009.

We stayed at Lakes last Labor Day weekend for about $100/night via spg.com. So depending on when you want to stay you might be able to get a cheap rental or cash+points. Or you could just buy one for $500 :)

Here are a few things to try for VR and VV deals:

I think that a fellow Tugger has reported that SVO gave them what we have started referring to on this board as the Travel Agent Secretary rates by asking SVO ever so nicely. (I probably would start by not calling it the "travel agent secretary" rate. I think its proper name is the "Travel Industry Preferred Partner” rate.)

Alternatively, www.redweek.com is offering 1 BD & 2 BD rentals (directly from SVO) for "cheap." As an added bonus, if you find the desired room for more on spg.com, you can get an additional 10% discount off the redweek rates by booking the higher rate on spg.com and then submitting a lowest rate guarantee claim.

II and RCI often have VR for rent as cheap "getaways" / "extra-vacations," so I'd check there too.

The only known SVO “owner” deal for Vistana Orlando resorts was this one that expired in June. It was a pretty crummy deal anyway since you had to burn 3 days of StarOptions to qualify for it (especially when knowing that SVO is willing to rent excess inventory to travel agent secretaries for less and without any 3 day burning of StarOptions requirement).

Good Luck,

You will certainly get either a VV or VR on II's Getaways for almost any time of year for much less than your maintenance fees at WKORV-N so I would go that route rather than a SVN exchange.

Exactly what I was thinking.
