Jackson Hole Car Rental
We are flying into Jackson Hole, WY later this week and looking for a great rate for a car rental. I haven't already booked something because everything I've looked at for months has been extremely high compared to other rental cars I've had. We prefer an economy or compact car because of the better gas mileage. I don't think I've ever paid more than $175 for a week anywhere except Ireland but everything I can find is close to $300 or more. I simply refuse to pay more for the rental car than what the airline ticket to get there costs. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I don't think that there are any good deals on cars at Jackson Hole, WY. We were there a number of years ago and they were high with plenty of taxes, etc. Not sure if there are any car rentals in town that provide pick up or not.

DH is in Jackson this week but he flew into SLc. I was able to get $283 incl tax for the 9 days but rates were higher than in the past and I have been checking daily for ~2 months and they haven't budged. Priceline didn't work either

It takes 4 and a half to five hours. DH went through Idaho Falls and that is a little longer than if you just go through wyoming

Hmm. Maybe I should think about flying into Idaho Falls and picking up a rental car there. Thanks for giving something to think about.

You should check rental prices in Idaho falls too before you change your airfare- they will probably be more than salt Lake but less than Jackson. Pocatello is also an option

If you can still fly into SLC, try Fox Rent A Car. Their economy cars at the moment are $139/wk, Fri to Fri (I didn't check other days).
