Inspired by Mindy35's comment, I'd like to put our creative heads together to design the perfect timeshare. Maybe Westin can put it to good us on WKORV-XXXIII. I'm not talking about where to build necessarily, but what features you'd like in a timeshare villa. Or which features would you grab from existing places to create the perfect timeshare?

I'll start.

*Washer/dryer!!!

*I like how the Embassy Suites has a separate sink outside of the main bathroom for brushing teeth/putting on makeup.

*Granite countertops

Great idea.

I'm sure I'll post more later, but the first thing which comes to mind is that I always feel as though I'm in a hotel when I'm at (a Starwood) timeshare, even though it's larger. I'd really like to see a more interesting (condo-ish) layout. Get rid of the straight lines and show me a wall that curves!

Oh, and I really like the private BBQ's at WMH 1 bed premium units. I know they're a pain for Starwood to keep working, but I think it's a great feature.

i love the large 2 person tubs, don't like the tub at wkv.

all should have actual bedrooms and not studios.

all should be no smoking.

they should have movies on demand.

that's it for now.

barbra

Here is my list

Lazy river and pool with some fun water feature or slide.
Kids' activity center and babysitting
On site restaurant and small "shacks" for food like burgers...

This is a great thread - once we get quite a few suggestions, I'd like to turn it into a poll.

I'd like to see:

Large patios/lanais on every unit.

Shuttles for shopping/dining/airport - even a moderate charge to cover cost would be OK with me.

All 1 bdms. and larger should have 2 bathrooms.

Book swap area for guests (leave a paperback - take a paperback.)

Designated area where guests can leave behind water toys, beach chairs, etc., for other guests to borrow for free.

Free and high speed WIFI in all units.

Separate adults only pool and hot tub.

Designated fun pool for kids.

What? This thread has been up for almost two hours and no vote for a swim-up bar? :D

I was going to add it after reading all the entries! :)

I'll add:

* Bathrobes
* Onsite spa
* Tennis courts with a good instructor
* Fireplace (like the Residence Inns have), especially for places in the mountains
* Plastic drinking cups in the kitchen
* Free Wi-Fi and free internet use in a business center/central area
* Activities for tweens without little kids (karaoke, Wii games, harder pool games, texting contests, Disney Channel trivia)
* A way to sleep 4 with privacy between 2 singles (mom & dad together but some privacy for a boy and girl) without getting a 2 bedroom
* Lots of pillows on the bed
* Elevators if more than 2 stories
* Bicycle rental

The clock/radios in the bedrooms and the plasma TV in the living room should have iPod docks.

King Heavenly Bed... {check}
Heavenly Shower {check}
Heavenly 2-person Jacuzzi Tub {check} - I thought our WKV tub was???
No Smoking {check, check, check, CHECK!} - smoking sucks for everyone!
Full Oven {semi-check}
Dish Washer {check}
Washer/Dryer {check}
Microwave {check}
Full-size Fridge {semi-check}
Double-sink in bathroom {semi-check}
separate toilet room {check}
A/C for tropical locations {CHECK}
Bar Service in all adult pool/hot tub {check for WKV - wish for others}
Flat-screen HDTV w/ HBO/ESPN/FSN {sorry...}
iPod dock for Bose Sound System {wish}

Dish Satellite or DirectTV with DVR's. No resort has it, and that would be great for those evenings, especially after a long day at DisneyWorld. We don't watch television in Hawaii.

Provide paper towels, new kitchen sponge, several dish towels, plastic wrap to cover leftovers, dishwashing liquid, salt & pepper, maybe some basic spices, several sharp knives, good non-stick skillet, non-stick bakeware, Pam spray.

Have HD Direct TV.

You want me to COOK? :eek: :eek: :eek: :D

iPod dock for Bose Sound System {wish}

When I was at WKORV earlier this year, I plugged my iPod into the Bose radio using a simple cable. Of course, they didn't provide the cable, but you can! Works great.

Funny enough, the W Hotels include iPod docks next to the bed with a small radio system. SVN certainly could do this, and I think it would be a great addition.

I vote for ALL OCEAN VIEW ROOMS... But true ocean front rooms like they have at WKORV

Very interesting - I thought I looked - do you mean the small Bose unit by TV?

Shearwater has ocean views from every unit, but they don't have a beach right there, you have to hike down to it.

Yup, you can use the accessory input. I'll try it again when I'm in Princeville next month and confirm.

Great thread. The only thing that keeps me laughing is the thought that once it's built, we'll tell everyone to NEVER buy it until it's available on resale and then make sure they don't pay more than $7,500 for it!:D

Seriously - great ideas. I'll add mine when I come back from vacation!

Not just a pool, but water park.....Aruba Surf Club is a great example.

In larger units, two bedroom/three bedroom units have two beds in the second bedroom, instead of one. The new ST John Bay Vista units have this, I think its a great feature.

One night a week, owners happy hour at the pool bar.....of course add pool bar, if none exist. Royals do it, why not Westin.

Larger balconies with real furniture.

Soundproofing, we don't want to hear all of our nieghbors next to us, below us or above us.

Online booking availability for owners.

I can't believe no one has mentioned...

1BD/1BD lock-offs..I LOVE the ability to trade the small 1BD or bring guests who feel like they have their own suite.

Ice Makers in the fridge! (water would be nice too)

I much prefer murphy beds (instead of the pull out sofa)

I'd love having basic spices available in the kitchen.

I'll add:

*Beach towels
*Plenty of free sunny AND shaded lounges around the pool (love this about WKORV)
*Plenty of natural light
*Sufficient drawers/hangers for the number of people it accomodates
*REAL WOOD furniture

Can I add..

- Room service
- Maid service
- Restaurants onsite
- In-condo cooking services
- A chocolate left on my bed
- 2 person jacuzzi in Masterbed AND 2/3rd bathroom
- 2 Queen sized beds in 2nd bedroom
- Pre-order of groceries/meals or pic nic lunches for eating on or off the grounds
- Kiddie camps
- Open floor plans in covered porches or balconies
- Everywhere you look has an awesome view
- A personal condo conceirge to make all of your dinner reservations, activities and anything else you may need
- Oh, and a bottle of wine when you check in...

(am I dreaming? :D )

You guys crack me up:hysterical: . I can't even imagine what the price and mfs would be for the things you are asking for.
