Resorts: Way too many! Selling some, giving some away, keeping the best.... |
Delta is having a great sale right now
I saw Denver to Orlando for $224 RT, including taxes, for fall-winter. There is a stop in Atlanta, of course, but what a deal! I am seeing prices much higher with the other companies.
I use sidestep.com to search airfares.

Yes, "name your own price" is on priceline. I've done it a couple of times and have had good luck. I'm sure there are others who are much better experts than I am, but it's actually very easy. If you go to the website and click on the link that says "name your own price, you just put it in and it will search for an airline to accept it. You really have to be flexible about your flight times, airline etc. because you don't know what they will be until AFTER you accept.
I always spend some time researching surrounding airports and the going rates and bid what I think is a reasonable price - 40-45% below. I've had some accepted right away and some rejected also It pays to keep trying though. |

As was stated, FLEXIBILITY is the key
We named our own price several years ago, I believe when we went to Yosemite from the East Coast. Our children were five then. I've never done it since. We had major layovers in St. Louis both ways. It's worth it to me to know my flight schedule. I don't like long airport layovers.

It does allow you to specify only non-stop, one-stop etc. Maybe that was not an option when you tried it. It is worth it to me when the lowest fare I could otherwise find was $329 per ticket. There are five in our family so that's over $600 in savings.
I completely understand though, not wanting to travel and have stops with small children. Mine aren't very old, but they're past the age of needing to be entertained, or crying on the flight. ![]() |
