Delta & Aa Decrease Mileage Benefits
N. Y. Times says that both Delta and AA are requiring more points to get free tickets and upgrades.
http://www.nytimes.com/2008/08/08/bu...l?ref=business Since I have 200,000 points with Delta, I'm not happy. I am worried that my Marriott points (700,000+) are at risk. Fortunately, I used all of my Am Exp points to pay for our air tickets to Maui last January (saved us some money). Last edited by Lawlar : August 7, 2008 at 08:21 PM. Reason: typo |

Think about this: All major airlines are reducing capacity. Fewer flights means fewer FF seats and more competition with paying customers. Marriott and other hotels aren't downsizing. They are pretty much stuck with their inventory and IMO, likely do increase efforts to get their "loyal" customers in the door. There may be some devaluation to cover increased costs, but you'll find them more user-friendly.
