Smile anna maria island

Hi. What is the best location to stay on the island. Can anyone recommend
any timeshares, cottages or hotels? I'm planning to go down in November.
Thanks. Judy

Umbrella Beach Club-townhouses right across from the beach. It is a small place and very nice. Corner of 64 and Gulf Road. It is a country type road not a major highway. So it is a minute to get to the beach. UBC has garages and two bikes.

Behind the resort is a plaza with Peaches and Shells Restaurant, a Walgreens, a bank and a grocer. We stayed there 4 years ago.

I stayed at Bungalow Beach resort and it was terrific- little kitchenette, big comfy king bed, patio, right on the beach and very reasonable rates. About 4-5 mins away

Near Bradenton, FL, which is near Sarasota. Florida's central Gulf coast south of Tampa Bay.

Judy, don't forget to eat at Mr Bones restaurant. (I think it's in Bradenton Beach.)

Pirates are in Bradenton and the Reds are near-by in Sarasota (for one more year!).

I forget the name of the two main E/W roads that go through Bradenton from when I lived there. One is Cortez. If you take the other one (the northern most one), it leads right to Anna Maria Island.

You may have been there already.

We stayed at the Longboat Bay Club a few years ago, and loved it! Across the road from the beach, huge units, and you can watch the manatees swim into the waterway behind the resort.

David, you are thinking about Manatee Ave. State Rd 64 also becomes Manatee ave once you get into town from the interstate. That goes across the bridge into the island and then intersects with Gulf Dr. on the beach. Umbrella is on the left or south side of 64/Manatee.

Thanks, everyone. I'm looking forward to visiting anna maria island. My plan
is to get away from the cold central new york winters for a month or two,
and this just might be the place to go!

I have a question for those who have stayed at Umbrella Beach. We have a week booked in Nov and have read the reviews. Which units do you prefer the ones with the living area on the second floor above the parking or the ones with the bedrooms on the second floor and the living area above? We like to have a balcony with a table large enough to eat out. Do both types of units have this?

Our unit was bedrooms on the first level and living up for the view. Since I have always lived in a home with bedrooms upstairs it it took getting used to. I kept walking the wrong way most of the week. I didn't know they had another layout.

We were in unit B6 which faced the beach with a clear view. I think the A units are located directly behind them. I recall a little patio that faced the pool but forget if there was a table.

Really nice place-units are roomy in a quiet area.
