Hawaiian airlines/Maui trip

So I just called Marriott and requested Maui on the 3rd of July OR Kauai the 10th (took all of your advice and switched Kauai to only Waiohai). If I get Kauai, I stay on Oahu for a week in a Marriott Hotel and then fly one way to Kauai on Hawaiian air. Then fly home on USAIR from Kauai.

If I get Maui - here's the scenario. Please tell me - IS THIS NUTS??? I land in Oahu (can't get a flight to Maui - all booked) after flying from Philadelphia. We switch to Hawaiian air to fly to Maui one way - then in a week - fly to Kauai on Hawaiian air.

I won't be able to book Hawaiian airlines until I find out if I'm staying in Maui or Kauai - that could be soon or it could be later - depending on Interval. Will the flights sell out? If that's possible, I should drop the idea of Maui. Will the cost jump? Right now it looks like about 69 one way per person - no problem! But I don't want to be in a bad situation where there's no way to get to Maui from Oahu that doesn't cost and arm and a leg.

Does Hawaiian air fly out of the same airport as I would land from Philadelphia? I would not want to land, get luggage, get a taxi to another airport.

we flew from Phila to Oahu yesterday, then flew on on interisland flight
to Kauii.
We flew on Island Air - but I would think Hawaiian air is much better. There were a ton on Hawaiin Air Flights and the Island air flight was full of problems.

Anyway, you can definety fly from Oahu to Maui. Some airport, but you just have to go to a different area (concourse).

Not nuts at all - that's how most people do it. Many, if not most travelers to Hawaii change planes on Oahu.

If you look at your desired flight day you will see that there are many flights all day from Oahu to Maui - like one every hour. The flights that fill up first are from 11 am - 6 pm when all the planes are landing from the mainland. However, travel to Hawaii is down and I don't think you will have a problem.

Does Hawaiian air fly out of the same airport as I would land from Philadelphia? I would not want to land, get luggage, get a taxi to another airport.

Yes - there is only 1 international airport on Oahu. When you get there you can take a shuttle - the Wiki Wiki Bus, to the inter-island terminal or walk. We always walk because we are ready to stretch our legs by then. Once you get to the Interisland terminal you can have a bite to eat while you wait for your next flight. We like Gordon Bierch and Stinger Rays.

I am assuming you will have checked luggage? You should ask your mainland airline to book your luggage all the way through on your Hawaiian flight for you. I would allow for a 90 min. layover, to give time for your luggage to be transferred.
