Air Tran switched our flights to Orlando in Novenber. They rebooked us 1 hour earlier, with a connection and getting in 50 minutes later. We had a non stop. I was able to get a better deal with better times on Southwest. Air Tran refunded all our $ with really no problem. I just spoke to a supervisor.

I like Airtran and have always been satisifed when I use them

Congratulations on the refund. In my opinion, when an airline changes a flight from non-stop to include a stop, a refund should be given. I'm happy to hear Airtran did the right thing.:whoopie:

Air Tran seems to be on top of customer service in general. While we did have a direct flight Milwaukee to Phoenix booked in March and they did a schedule change that resulted in our having to make a connection through Atlanta, they did not permit a refund. They did however clue us in that there would probably be another schedule change later in the year that would restore the non-stop flight for the winter and we could request to be put back on it if/when that happened. We did and they took care of it right away.

Also, yesterday we had a direct flight Milwaukee to Orlando that was canceled due to fog in Milwaukee on Friday night. The best they could do to get us to Florida was Monday afternoon. After learning of the mess with our rental car, I called to inquire about a refund, and they took care of it for us, sans the seat selection fees ($24) which will be put "on credit" for use by 6/09.

All in all, I'm pretty happy with AirTran thus far and I haven't even been on one of their planes yet :)

We had a similar situation but Air Tran offered us nothing...as I pursued it, they moved me up to their version of first class for one leg of the trip. Better than nothing!

Wow, this just happened to me with AirTran

Purchased Airtran Spring Break flight for 4 in Nov. Booked tickets in an airport 1-1/2 hours further out than the nearest airport to home because it was non-stop and it was half the price of local flights through Airtran. The flight times were reasonable for a nice leisurely drive to and from the airport and it was a savings over $650. Airtran sent notification that the flights now had an included stop. I emailed Airtran customer service. They apologized and indicated they offered two options; to be moved to another flight or receive a full refund. I figured that I would have to go for the refund. I figured that I would have to pay the difference for the cost of the new tickets which were double what I had paid for the original tickets. Nope! They moved me to a non-stop flight leaving out of the airport near my home. Great flight times also. No problems, no extra charges, quick and very helpful when I called to make the changes. I have had very good experiences in the past with Airtran and this ended up working out great for us.:cheer:

I've heard nothing but good things about AirTran of late.

But speaking of CS... I know that Delta has a reputation for mediocrity in this area, but I must say that they've done right by me when dealing with storm-related weather in Florida, twice rebooking us for alternate airports at the last minute, and once completely rerouting us and using Lufthansa to get us to Rome, IT.

And the credit hit my VISA account on 1/2/09. Very impressive!
