DL AMEX ending most double mile categories

It is being reported at Flyer Talk that a statement in a recent DL Amex bill said that all of the ''Always Double Miles'' cateogries will end on January 1 except for DL purchases.

For those who have not ditched this card from the devaluatiion of SkyMiles, now Amex is making the card itself less useful to accumulate those miles.

And meanwhile, they've increased their annual fees from $85 to $95/year.

I guess the gravy train is over. I'm just hoping that Chase doesn't do away with double miles for their United card.

That's very disappointing...what cards are worth using for FF miles anymore?

Any that give you miles for the same fees (and interest rates if you don't pay off every month) as those that do not.

Cheers

The way some airlines are trashing the value of miles, a card that pays you a cash bonus, or one tied to a hotel program might be a better bet.

I am seriously thinking of changing my AMEX milage and Chase milage Visa cards to the rebate card.
