I think most of the resorts in Williamsburg are quite nice. Have you looked at the reviews? It depends on what you like in a resort.

Resorts: Marriott's Manor Club Sequel Platinum, Marriott Grande Vista Platinum, Foxrun week 39
Governors Green, Kings Creek Plantation, Greensprings.

The others aren't as nice or don't have full sets of amenities.

Possibly because the original poster specifically said he was interested in resorts "besides the Marriott".

Correct. It is my favorite, of course.

Just got back from Kings Creek - nice comfortable units, but we had the upstairs neighbors from (*)(*&. Of course that could happen anywhere.....

We've also been to the Plantation, Governor's Green, and Marriott - all were good choices.

Governors Green is great. My family stayed there and did not want to leave.

PJ, was that in the Townes or the Estates? The Cottages don't have "upstairs neighbors," or do they?
