Golf in Hilton Head Island

I took golf lessons for the first time last summer and without a doubt......I am a beginner. I love the game but need time on the course and experience. My question is:
What golf course would be good for a beginner looking to play only 9 holes? We are leaving tomorrow, Feb. 19, and checking into the Island Links by Coral Resorts on Feb. 20th. Any help you can give me would be appreciated.

My husband and I are in a similar situation. Dues to involvement with family/friends, we have been unable to golf for the past 3 years. We're heading to HH for Easter and would like to find out which courses are better suited to duffers like us. We really hope to get back in the game. Safe travels. Enjoy your trip.

Suggestions please anyone?

Can't give you much direction on the 9-hole request, but a good way to play and not pay (much) is to use Last Minute Tee Times while in Hilton Head. I used there service the past two trips to HHI...great way to play nice courses at discounted rates (usually 50% off).

You can play 9 holes on the course at Shipyard...I think they have 3 nine-hole courses. Pretty courses, and not that difficult (I'm a beginner too!)

Spanish Wells is 9 holes and there is a fairly easy course called the Executive Golf Club which is called the perfect setting for "family golf." It is is Bluffton (843-686-6400).If your Island Links arrangement is like ours, you get free green fees at all Port Royal courses.

If you have players behind you that are faster, just have your group play "best ball" to keep pace.

Enjoy. Sorry this post is after you left, but hopefully you are accessing email on HHI.

Thanks to all replys. We are here now and have set up time in Bluffton to play golf. If you attend a timeshare presentation the resort offers gift certificates that can be used to play golf.

Incidently, the presentation is about as awful as they get. All previous comments about the "sharks" here at Island Links are true and real. Our gal was obnoxious and so full of herself. She could lie like the best of them. We sat for about an hour and then I finally said to her......."I think we're done here" and I got up to leave. She was upset about this but then handed us some papers and told us to go somewhere else for out gifts. We received $100.00 in certificates and we agreed that that was pretty good pay for one hour. We left and had fun with our $100.00.

The resort is beautiful and spotless. It's a very lovely place to stay in HHI.
